Shah Fazil Mausoleum

Shah Fazil Tomb

Shah Fazil Tomb is an architectural monument. It is located near the village of Safdbulan in Ala-Buka district of Celal-Abad region. The history of Shah Fazil dates back to the 11th and 12th centuries.

In the 11th and 12th centuries, one of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Shah Jarir, came in the name of his grandfather with 12,000 soldiers to spread Islam to the people of the Fergana Valley. Ordinary people, who have no idea about Islam and who belong to different religions in their own group, did not initially bow to Shah Jarir's call. Despite opposition from time to time, Shah Jarir did not refrain from holding meetings by referring to the holy book of the Qur'an, which was revealed to his grandfather by Almighty Allah.

Jarir wanted to marry the local ruler's daughter named Buaydah in order to gain the trust and respect of the local people. The wedding takes place with the permission of the girl's father.

After a while, the governor of the region and Buaydah's father, Ikhsid, planned to attack the Muslims who came to spread the religion. The attack was to take place during Friday prayers. On Friday, Muslims gather at the mosque for Friday prayers. Jarir became aware of the attack. It is not permissible to break the prayer, but Muslims decide to pray briefly and be ready for battle. However, for some reason, the worship took a long time. The rebels entered the mosque and cut the heads of some Muslims who were praying. However, Cerir saved himself and some of his loved ones. Hearing this, the rest of the Muslims came to the place and wanted to enter the mosque to collect their wounded and dead bodies. The local youth agreed, but the older men refused, saying, "The Shah will kill us too if the Shah hears we let you in." Therefore, Jarir returned home with his pregnant wife Buaydah and other Muslims.

Shortly after returning to his homeland, Jarir was poisoned to death by the conspirators. Jarir had a son named Fazil. Fazil grew up unaware of his father's fate until he was 40 years old. When he turned 40, his mother told him everything. Fazil gathered troops and eventually arrived in Fergana, where he established Islamic rule. However, his fate was just like his father's. This tomb was built for Fazil.
