Gharm Chashma

42 kilometres from the city of Khorog, in the south-western part of the Pamirs at an altitude of 2800 meters above sea level, there is a mineral spring "Garm Chashma" - a hydropathic establishment.

In an indescribably beautiful place, in the middle-mountainous part of the valley, on the right bank of the Garm Chashma River, where the ever-white, giant peaks of the Pamir Mountains are visible from afar, there is a hot spring Garm Chashma. According to historical data, the source "Garm Chashma" has existed for millennia, and there is no doubt about it, because only a centuries-old existence could form a huge travertine deposit.

Garm Chashma resort, built in the late 1950s on the site of a mineral spring. The healing waters of this place are known throughout the region; a large number of travellers and tourists come here every year. In this regard, the Garm Chashma Resort can be considered a full-fledged attraction of the western Pamirs. The hot springs are located in an amazingly beautiful place, on the right bank of the beautiful Ishkashim River overlooking the snow-capped mountains.

The climate in this place is very pleasant and has a positive effect on human health. That is why so many tourists want to visit the hot springs and get rid of their ailments. People with various diseases come here: with cardiovascular diseases, neurosis, musculoskeletal disabilities and genealogical diseases. The mineral waters that come out on the surface of the Garm Chashma springs from the very depths of the earth, from the ancient crystalline and metamorphic rocks, resemble a fountain. Over the course of many centuries, travertine hills with a height of 7-8 meters and a length of 1500 meters have formed around them, with wonderful ledges flowing down to the river.

According to its physical and chemical properties, the water of the Garm Chashma spring belongs to hydrogen sulphide-carbonic, chloride-hydrocarbonate, and sodium-siliceous terms. The average water temperature is 59 °С.

The water contains the most valuable trace elements such as magnesium, fluorine, iron, aluminum, strontium. All these substances are biological stimulants and increase the balneological values of the water.

In the resort area of Garm Chasma, cold mineral springs of Narzan also come out, which are safely used in complex treatment.
