Abyaneh village
Abyaneh is a beautiful mountain village in the Natanz region 77 km from Kashan. The sublime village is especially calm and peaceful. Its inhabitants are mostly dedicated farmers or skilled artisans. Some important architectural monuments deserve a visit in particular the mosque and the mausoleum of Yahya Issa. It offers several possibilities for walking, especially on the banks of the rivers and in the surrounding mountains. Take advantage of your holidays to reconcile with nature and the fresh landscape offered by this beautiful little town.
The small town is distinguished by the ochre colour of its houses due to the soil rich in iron oxide. The dwellings are indeed made of mud bricks and straw. The village was fortified to protect itself from enemy attacks. You will be amazed by the beauty and simplicity of these homes. The inhabitants used stone as a building material to protect themselves from humidity and external aggressions. The wooden balconies and windows are carefully highlighted by local artisans, which makes these types of dwellings unique works.
The Jame Mosque is a magnificently successful building. You will see in the heart of the mosque a wooden mihrab. Around this niche are beautiful images and a chapter of the Koran engraved on the wood. According to the date inscribed on the mihrab, the construction of the mosque dates back to the 14th century. Its interior covered with beautiful decorations carved on the carpet is well maintained.
It is a truly impressive monument and attracts a large number of visitors every year. You will find a sublime expanse of flowers, streams, a swimming pool and a magnificent veranda overlooking the green valley of the city. It is located in one of the oldest districts of the city. The date engraved on the entrance door indicates that it is from the Seljuk period, between 1038 and 1194. This sanctuary undoubtedly belongs to the famous Porzaleh mosque.
For some time, the village has been the subject of numerous archaeological excavations following an agreement between Abyaneh and the archaeological research centre. According to the report released by the World Heritage experts, the village has been singled out for inclusion in the list of the cultural body. However, the continued construction of hotels in the village jeopardizes the historical and cultural status as well as the selection criteria sought by UNESCO on the site. However, no site is worth the alluring natural colours of the village.
